Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bond is known to all and adored by many. The duo never shies away from expressing their admiration for each other during their media interactions. As season 8 of the director’s celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan is making the headlines every week, he was asked if SRK will be making a comeback on the show. Sharing that he will not be making an appearance this season, Johar stated that the actor will come on the show when he wants to speak.

For those who don’t know, Shah Rukh last graced the couch of Koffee With Karan in 2016 for the premiere episode of season 5 alongside his Dear Zindagi co-star Alia Bhatt. Talking about the actor returning to the show, the filmmaker during a press event on Monday stated that the superstar will not be coming on his show anytime soon. The 51-year-old expressed that the actor has earned the right to speak when he needs to and being one of his closest friends and family, he understands that. Talking on the matter further, quoted by MidDay, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director said, “I pick and choose what I ask for. He is somebody who matters the world to me. He is family to me. He is my older brother, he is everything. I know when the time is right, I will ask him. And I know when he wants to speak, he will and when he does I know it will be extraordinary because no one gives interviews better than Shah Rukh Khan. Nobody speaks better than him. On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is awaiting the release of Rajkumar Hirani directorial Dunki. Co-starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani and others, the movie is based on an illegal immigration technique called ‘Donkey Flight’. The movie is set to release on December 21, 2023.
